Every term that appears in Desearch requests, responses, and bills.

    Requests

    TermMeaning
API keyThe credential from the Console, sent in the Authorization header on every request. No Bearer prefix.
PromptThe natural-language question you send to Search API endpoints.
QueryThe keyword string used by the X and web endpoints, which search rather than answer.
ToolA source the Search API may draw from. Intended values: web, twitter. You choose the set per request. For site-scoped web results, use web with include_domains rather than a separate tool id.
date_filterRestricts results by recency, such as PAST_24_HOURS, PAST_WEEK, PAST_MONTH. On AI Search, date filtering applies to X results.
result_typeWhat the Search API returns: links only, or links plus a final summary (LINKS_WITH_FINAL_SUMMARY).
StreamingWhen true, the summary arrives incrementally as server-sent events instead of one JSON body.

    Responses

    TermMeaning
ResultOne returned item: URL, title, snippet, and publication date.
SnippetThe short passage from the source page that matched your prompt.
CompletionThe final summarized answer, when a summary result_type is requested.
CitationThe source link a completion sentence is grounded in. Agents should pass these through, not strip them.
X-Desearch-Cost-UsdResponse header stating what the request cost, in USD.

    Account

    TermMeaning
Consoleconsole.desearch.ai: keys, usage, billing, and the Playground.
PlaygroundThe Console page where you run any endpoint against your key without writing code.
CreditsPrepaid balance that requests draw down, per the pricing page.
Rate limitPer-key request ceilings, measured per minute, day, and month. See Rate limits & errors.

    The network underneath

    TermMeaning
BittensorThe decentralized network Desearch runs on. Subnet 22 builds Desearch's web index, and Desearch runs the search API on top of it.
Subnet 22The Bittensor subnet Desearch operates. It builds Desearch's web index with miners and validators.
MinerAn operator that claims crawl tasks, embed tasks, or both. Crawl tasks fetch and extract pages. Embed tasks turn the text of crawled pages into embeddings on the miner's GPU.
ValidatorA node that checks a sample of both kinds of work: it re-fetches pages and recomputes embeddings. A miner's reward share follows its accepted work, compared with every other miner doing the same task.
TAOBittensor's token, in which miners and validators are rewarded. You never need it to use the API; billing is in USD.
